Post subject:  Truss rod cap?

Hi, I am about to rout the truss rod channel into the neck of my first build(OLF Small jumbo), and ai'm installing Stew Mac's Hot Rod. Should I make room for a cap to be glued in on top of the truss rod? My neck will taper from 3/4 at the heel to a little less than 11/16 at the nut. The truss rod is 7/16 deep. I will be using an ebony fingerboard.

Stewmac say cap strip is not required. I bought 10 of them.
With your intended neck depths (I assume those are without fingerboard!) you will have less than 1/4" thickness under the truss rod at the nut, plenty, but not a lot to play with for a cap strip.
An ebony fingerboard will make an exellent one anyway.
Good luck with the build!
