Post subject:	Finding and Matching Up Trim
Is it just me or do other people find it a bit challenging finding complete trim sets. For example, I quite like the new curly koa bindings with the black/koa/black laminate being offered by Stew-Mac but I'm not sure where to get some koa for the end wedge and/or the black/koa/black laminate to go on the outside edges of the end wedge (I suppose I could try and rip some off of some of the binding). This is the problem I am having in general - other than black/white/black combinations, I can't seem to find laminates to match bindings that have laminates. Any suggestions? Pat

IMHO the best way to achieve your goal is to make everything yourself, either with bought veneer sheets, or by resawing and drum sanding your own stock. Then build up your laminates and match bindings, peghead veneer, end wedge etc. with either the same stock or a good colour match. BTW the veneer sheets I get from Certainly wood are all .020" with no variation.

Todd, I ordered their flat-sawn curly maple and dyed black veneer sheets multiple times. Not only the quality is top notch, but the sheets are really exactly .020" and flat as can be. I do not know for the other wood species, I will assume they cut it with the same setup. They also have thicker veneers (1/16) in various species, including mahogany.
