Post subject:  Protective masking

Back in my manufacturing days, we used a low tack 2 or 5mil poly (bought in wide rolls) to cover & protect polished/delicate surfaces from harm during work. (Think same type of thing you peel off plexi once you're finished working it.) I noticed, in BRB#5, Jeff Taugott recommended a thin and low (post-it note) tack material called "premask".
I'm always concerned that, the closer you get to the end, the risk of "dings/blemishes" goes up exponentially! (Nothing worse!)
So, I guess my question is, what if anything do you use (other than plain masking tape) and where do you get it?

Frisket film, available from most art supply stores in sheets or rolls.
