Post subject:  Fixing the "Changing your mind late in the game" rosette
So after a couple of comments from Barry Daniels, JSmith, and my wife.... and a long night of terrible sleep trying to mill through the decision ahead of me, I decided to yet again reroute out the rosette. [headinwall]

I changed the design a little bit and I think I like this design better anyways. I also used thumb tacks to hold it all in place rather than tacking it in place with superglue along the way. I think I saw Chris Paulick use this technique once. It worked great.

And if you don't like this one (to anybody who is reading), I don't care. I got the wife's approval and that's pretty hard to do. laughing6-hehe

When I saw the first re-do, I thought, "If it was me, I couldn't settle for that." So, good on you, doing it right. You'll be happier with it in the long run, and it looks great.

Agree with Pat. While I am not much for That style of rosette inlay, I must say it looks a lot better. I have re-done several with a Stew-Mac Dremel router (you can find the toot somewhere around here) and my worry about your setup is the "pin". If it wobbles at all or is not absolutely perpendicular, your rout will be bad.

very nice! And one night of agonizing the re-repair is small compared to the long term disappointment and/or embarrassment of not having done it. Congratulations.

Looks good to me .
Fish glue gives a long open time and can help to fill a bit where/when needed.
