Sometimes not having a thickness planer can be an advantage. I just came in from the shop with the garage door wide open, the sun streaming in, and up to my ankles in plane shavings from spruce tops #2 and #3. No noise. No dust. Just shavings.

And all this in Toronto in the middle of March.

Sometimes life hardly sucks at all :-)

I hear you Steve! Not having a shop in my basement (I'm a garage dweller) I am stuck waiting for the winter thaw each year to do anything that requires a power tool and enough space to swing a cat. I'm in Oakville and the weather this week has been absolutely fantastic. If it keeps up I'm going to have to open the pool or deal with a mess of algae (a.k.a. green flubber)

Soak it up today as they are calling for snow again next week!

I'm about 6 hours straight east of you & it sure is nice here!
Great time to air the shop out for me.

Also a great day in Windsor On, I just got back from my 1st bicycle ride of the season, 2 1/2 hours makes for a sore ass, but my legs feel good. I rode along the waterfront, lots of ice flowing into the river from lake St Clair. I am thinking I will take a guitar outside for a little picking time once I close this laptop.
