So, this is my #2 build and #1 using hide glue. I am still getting the hang of it but I noticed that it dries really hard with an amber color.

This observation makes me wonder - Could you use HHG as a finish? Just wipe it on, sand it flat, a couple coats, level and buff it out?

You can say NO, that is crazy!!! :D

Hey Justink,
Pretty good thinking going on there, but it is not a finish. There are some folks use it as a pore fill. Just slop on and sand down to wood after it dries. I've noticed when I have done that, that even though when it dries it still is kinda sticky when your fingers touch it. Some fiddle makers use it as a ground also.

OK thanks guys! I figured there was some gooooood reason why I had never heard it used before on the OLF. I may try to pore fill with it on this one - egg whites took me forever last time.

Thanks all for room to be a novice! bliss
