Dam John, I wish I was close. It would be great to see your shop, meet you and all the other builders, there are some drawbacks to living in the boonies! What an opportunity! Ya'll have fun, Joe |

Hey John, Glad to hear this great news! I agree with Todd. You're just an hour away, so if Todd & I and whoever else comes early can help, we will. |

I may have to do a 2 day open house. What would you guys like to see presented ? I think with the current questions of CA and Rosettes , I will show my method of rosetting a top . If anyone feels they have a great tidbit and want to do a demo please let me know , This is to be an open house and an exchange of ideas. Also we will have a swap meet and woods to sell. Bring along what you want . |

I could do a demo on how to break sides when bending, how to destroy a top routing a rosette, how to build a neck that is too small at the joint, then how to make the joint to small for the neck, and back and forth until you have to start over. Count me in! I am in eastern PA so could come early to help set up also. Or I could do a demo on how to exceed a credit limit buying wood and tools ![]() |

Hi John - had a great time at your last open house - you can count me in for this one. As for topics - I have been using your side bending machine with success for the last three years - but have not worked up the courage to try to bend a cut away - perhaps a demo of this? Also, I have read and experimented with intonation but would like to watch someone who really knows how to demonstrate the proper way to intonate an acoustic guitar. Just two ideas - the demos last time were very good and any sharing of info is useful for a beginner like me. Any contributions I could make to defray costs for such an undertaking - let me know. thanks for doing this - looking forward to seeing you and everyone else. Bill Tolan. |

I'm interested in going but will have to get closer to the actual date before I can fully commit. As a new builder, I would like to see: 1) the demo on tool sharpening 2) French Polishing (I know, it's been done to death). Thanks for the invitation John! |

Wow, I might actually be able to come, I am going down to the Carlisle car show with my dad on the 10th. How far is that from your place John? |

Carisle isn't too far , within 2 hrs . I will make more definite points closer to the open house but Dovetail neck set and nuts can be arranged. An inlay demo is also a sure thing. Any one that wants to do a demo let me know email me at tippie@epix.net |

Todd Stock wrote: John: Here's what I can do: - Sharpening demo and maybe a couple 60 minute hands-on workshops (40,000 views of the YouTube vid, so lots of interest) - Using a shooting board and bench hook - Hide glue basics (see below) I would love to see these 3 items. I am looking to make a shooting board in the near future and this would be great to see in use (in person opposed to video) |

I am gonna plan on coming to this. Will you post directions and all ? I will probably make it a weekend trip as I have some friends around Harrisburg - York area. I am a newbie. I have built 6 guitars with #'s 7 and 8 on the bench. Being a newbie, here are some demos or builds I'd like to see : Sound ports, adjustible necks and how they work, how to put in a side bevel, routing and binding a headstock and fingerboard (like gibson SJ200's), tips on doing your first cutaway. Really looking forward too this. Last luthier event I went to was 2008 GAl convention and I loved it. Dan Reese |

Mapquest has good directions. The Hegins exit is 112 rt 81. We are about 8 miles off the interstate. Head west as you get into Hegins , I am about 2 miles from the town square. Once you go past the cemetery look for the first paved road to the left. Ride it till it turns to dirt , then look for the big rock with 244 painted on it. You can see out shop and house to your left . Looking forward. |
