I am aware of the Sylvan Welles brace radius jig for the tables saw. Who else uses it or variations of, especially the clamping part? I thought I saw another jig out there but can't find now. What about a band saw jig/guide; are there any out there? Or even planing a curve on the jointer, is that conceivable? Mike McNerney |

I've seen it done on a belt sander - Galloup has a jig they use to radius the brace on the sander. I'll see if I can find the pics I have of it. |

Is this what you're talking about? http://www.luthiersuppliers.com/products/p6.html I believe you could use it with a table saw, or jointer. I've made a couple jigs to use a router table, and pattern bit, but I no longer use them. I just mark the brace, then trim them pretty close on a band saw and sand them in a dish. |

But to be honest, a couple of quick swipes with a sharp block plane, and the brace is radiused. Works great and fast. By the time you get the table saw going, you can be done with the brace using the block plane. Glenn |
