Ok, up for grabs this time is a set of Spalted Mango. This set is extremely colorful and filled with beautiful spalting. This set is large enough for a J200 size guitar, and will build a visual show stopper. Retail value is $220, but a buy it now bid of $185 takes it and gets free domestic shipping. Man that's beautiful Mark! ![]() Mango kind of reminds me of the film Apocalypse Now and when Chef left the boat to go into the jungle looking for some mangos for his lunchtime culinary creation... The tiger growling certainly could relieve constipation...... Sorry I digressed..... It's not easy being me.... ![]() ![]() |

I've still got 2 sets of Curly Mango and 2 Spalted, Curly Mangos waiting for life. This wood is totally captivating. Every set is a treat for the eye. I found Curly Mango a bit tricky to bend. In fact....that's why I ended up building a Curly Mango Florentine. I couldn't just toss the sides. I tried a 1 hr. soak and bend and did better with just a spritz and bend on high heat. I do a torch and pipe bend so I was able to watch closely to keep from scorching. The curly also tends to bend a little uneven so a steel sheet backup on top while bending is a good idea. If it isn't curly grained...it should bend nice without any issues. I practiced a lot with some scraps. Kent |

This one is not Spalted...but a Curly Mango. It finishes nice too. Minor pour filling. Kent |
