Just wondered if others here have had similar problems, if I warm the wood to give me a longer open time it generally cups and warps and a joint the candled perfectly now has a hump in the middle I just avoid this step now, and try and work quick and have it at least 65 f in the workshop before I do maybe fish glue is the way to go as 1 in 10 I have to redo. How do you do yours? |

I tent the plates, apply the glue and join them... all within 30 seconds...no need to warm the wood. |

Yeah using clamps is slower I just feel more confident doing so I tented the top of my first guitar using titebond and it worked well but now I have large sash cramps I feel more assured using them and it doesn't take much effort to redo a joint, it takes longer to wait for warped plates to return to shape! |
