I got $100 (my wife got a 2010 Honda Pilot) to spend at Highland Woodworking in Atlanta later this month. What did the rest of you get? Non-lutherie is ok also but please no sex comments. René

This is Rene's wife. Actually he has been promising me a new vehicle for months. It was supposed to be my graduation gift back in December, but he is just now getting around to getting it for me. How convenient of him to call it my Valentine's gift. Sandra

I got permission to build a home gym for olympic weightlifting with part of our tax return A Squat rack, gymnast rings, Pendlay barbell, and 300+ pounds of rubber bumpers.

Don't mind me I am just jealous... the big event here was last Friday - Sony was 8 years old and we celebrated with him getting his own filet Mignon.... It's a tradition and I'm not breaking it.... Well done Sandra. Over a 3rd of relationships don't survive a partner completing a masters program. The Pilot was well deserved. Well as things worked out, I received a box of tops from Shane Saturday. 'Fessed up to buying them when I said I wouldn't buy any more wood. Got a kiss and was told, "Good, now I don't have to get you anything." Didn't have to sleep on the couch and have 10 tops stickered in the shop.

I made out pretty well. A scorp for inside carving (Woodcraft). A complete set of binding bit & bearings (Stew-Mac). A Freud pattern bit for my router (Woodcraft). Drawer slides for my binding jig (Woodcraft). An Ibex finger plane (LMI). A set of Hondo Mahogany (LMI). Valentine`s Day present? Well, my money paid for it and there is no significant other, so I guess I must love myself! Coe Franklin

I got a cool t-shirt with a guitar on it but I actually get my lutherie gifts all year. I am blessed to have a wife that understands and accepts that my passion for guitar building results in packages showing up on the front porch on a routine basis. I think she is still hopeful that I might actually sell something eventually.

Right on Link. That had to be amazing. My best friend came down from Oregon and we got lots of wiring done on the shop and got to hang out all day. I got a new framing hammer for aggressive tap tuning. The best part was that I got engaged to an amazing woman. She truly is the love of my life. She has a brilliant 2 year old boy who I will be honored to call my son. So I had a pretty dang good day. Darrin

I got the reassurance from my wife that spending hours in the shop is still very much ok with her, as long as I am enjoying what I do. Man...she is soooo cool that way!

My wife's gift came a day late. She honored me by driving me to the ER on Monday night. Thankfully it was only a deep cut that they were able to glue shut. I knew i married her for a reason.
