Hi everyone, I need 1.0mm square plastic (or other inlayable type material) or smaller size rods, in varying colors, as well as black and white. Does anyone know of a source for this type of thing? Thanks, Craig L |

Craig, Could you use 1mm thick veneer (there's a lot of 0.042" thick stuff around) and cut 1mm wide strips? I do that kind of thing a lot for my marquetry work. I use my laser to cut them neatly. I did a bit of an intensive web search for 1mm square plastic rod and came up empty handed. How about cutting up some Corian on your bandsaw? Cheers, Dave F. |

Can you use round and just level it off (looks the same once inlaid)? Anything that small can't really be extruded square, to my knowledge. It's hard to find a plastics supplier that will even extrude plastic rod that small. 1mm would be the lower bound on what most equipment could do, and most places won't do under 1/8th, but I have a supplier that extrudes 0.06" for me to use as side dots. One roll of material is more black side dots than even the biggest factory could use in years, though! |

Plastic sheet and veneer are probably your best bet. You can then trim to suit your needs. |

Try Online Metals.Com.(and Plastics Too) Looks like you would have to slice them from their sheets. http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cf ... &top_cat=0 René |
