Post subject:  Advice needed on fox bending binding with b/w/b trim

Hi all
My first post after looking around here for a long time, this is a great source.
This is the first time I could'nt find the info I wanted with the search function.

I want to bend some Curly maple binding with b/w/b trim on my new build fox bender.
On my first attempt using the bender I had some light scorching on a flamed maple side.
(Probably I worked to slow or used too less water, second attempt was nearly perfect)
I figured it's a wise thing to get some advice for the binding.
So are there do's and don'ts on bending Curly maple binding with b/w/b trim.

Greetings from The Netherlands
Wim

bend it just like wood , but you can go quickly. I have a you tube video on this with purfling . I do tape my binding together in a full set . This helps to keep the binding from moving too much. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... type=&aq=f this link will take you there.
With maple you don't want too much water and you don't want too much time. Within 4 minutes you should be done bending then let it cycle out at about 220 degrees . IF you have a Blues Creek Bender set the controller to Var and L this will keep you from scortching
