but I had a hand in the construction. ![]() This is Jerry Nolte (Evergreen Mountain Instruments) with what he calls his "barebones" parlor. Obviously, one of the woods he works with primarily is black walnut. This set didn't have much in the way of curl, but he liked it and it made a decent guitar. When I picked it up, I could not believe how light it is.....amazing. ![]() ![]() His upgrades are the slotted head and the cutaway. Jerry came over to my shop to show me this guitar before it ships out. He's been a friend for close to 20 years, and now he is giving me pointers on my first build. Jerry is a great guy with a ton of experience working with most types of string instruments. He specializes in handmade vintage-style guitars. I thought you folks would enjoy the pics. ![]() Arnie |

Arnie, That's a nice looking guitar. I have also been suprized at how light a black walnut acoustic can be since i've been building them. How does that one sound? |

That is a gorgeous guitar! I would be happy if my luxery edition looked as good as his barebones edition. |

Mark Groza wrote: How does that one sound? Absolutely wonderful. I play, and have some sense of what a decent guitar sounds like. No question - this one sounds and plays better than my hand-picked Martin. |
