I'm in! The last two guitars I have built have been from wood I got from the Swap-a-Palooza. Didn't realize it until this thread came up. I need to build more guitars - so help me keep my string of great wood going! |

Newb question....bear with me - I'm guessing this is a virtual thing......not an actual brick and mortar site? I'm in if it's virtual innerweb stuff. I'm also guessing folks post pics of what they are selling and/or swapping, and the fun begins? I've got some sets of curly black walnut, a few good Stanley and non-Stanley hand planes, and I'm always looking for a decent deal on a hand tool or two. ![]() |

Brock sets up a sub-forum on the OLF. Members of the OLF (there are rules) can have a table (which is a discussion thread) where they prepare and post their items. The doors are then open and folks can go buy on the threads. It's not only useful for buying/selling, but it's become a pretty enjoyable social event for the OLF. When it comes to fruition, I'm sure Brock will post particulars on how folks can participate. But yes, it is virtual. Filippo ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I can't find the word "palooza" in my dictionary. I hope there won't be polka music there. The last time I had a really bad headache, there was loud polka music palying in the background. |

Argh! My wife is already up in arms about the set of Palo Escrito I just purchased from Chris Harrod of LMI. Chris was kind enough to come speak to the Stringed Instrument Makers of Southern California about wood properties, availability, and sustainability. He brought a variety of back and side sets along with several types of tops. This was a good learning experience with a very nice gentleman. Through the process I learned a good deal more about LMI and how they grade and process woods. It was very informative! Hopefully, I can pick up some money playing poker so I can buy more if the swap happens. The Palo Escrito is true rosewood that is light in color and fairly light in weight. My set rings forever. I am expecting to make two great ukuleles from this set. The lighter weight will really play into my plans. Philip |

I'd be in as well. I think I'm building my last steel-string guitar right now. I don't know - I just like the process of building classicals more...and the tone as well. So I'd set up a table to get rid of all that I don't need for classicals. cheers, Christian |
