Post subject:  Heating Blanket for a Florentine Cutaway

Hi all,

A question – possibly a dumb one - concerning heating blankets: I've recently acquired a silicone heating blanket for side bending but have yet to use it. Can it also be used to bend the separate short section of side material required for a Florentine cutaway?

My only concern is that when bending sides, the damp wood and metal slats act a heat sink, but bending a short section of wood for a cutaway might allow the unused portion of the blanket to overheat. LMI would probably prefer that I buy one of their cutaway bending blankets, but I'm wondering whether it's really necessary.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Pete

Thanks Todd. Just to be clear, you're using full-length metal slats too?

I found your side-bending video tutorial very useful by the way.
