Have you ever put a maple neck on an acoustic guitar that wasn't maple b/s? I'm actually considering it. Trying to visualize it. Oh how I long for the 70s (Just kidding) |

I've seen several. They look great with any dark body wood, especially if you use maple binding. |

I'm building a Waterfall Bubinga (Manzer Wedge) with Flame Maple binding. The Bubinga has some nice lighter sapwood in the center. I was thinking a Flame Maple neck with some Bubinga lams might look good. Not sure though if the up/down pattern of the Bubinga vs the side to side flame of the Maple will be too busy. Think I'll just hold the back set up to a friend's wonderful flame Maple Telecaster neck and see what I think. |

I like the mass of Maple Necks. I think all my guitars going forward will have them even if I have to burst them or stain them. I have one right now a Myrtle Breedlove A-13. Attachment: Breedlove A-13.jpg
