Post subject: | Hide glue shelf life |
I bought two bottles of Norland fish glue a while back & it is now more that a year old. When I contacted Kremer (The distributor) to ask about shelf life, they assured me that if refrigerated, in a sealed container, it would last indefinitely. This stuff is not cheap to buy & ship to Canada, so I don't want to throw it away if it is still good. Nor do I want to use it if the quality has been impaired. The Kremer rep was not aware this glue was being used for fine woodworking projects, where longevity is critical. He was very helpful, but not a knowledgeable as I had hoped. I'm hoping someone here can help me decide whether or not to toss the old stuff out & order some new... Or keep on using it with confidence. Do you fish glue users find that you need to add a bit of water to the glue to get it to the right consistency? Thanks! Dan |
