I managed to , in my haste, not radius the back bracing on a mandolin  . Because crap how much can it concave in less than 12" glued ? weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllll ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm alot.  Is there a Fix that I can try short of removing the back ? I am at the stain and finish point and dont wanna redo the back. Its about 1/8" concaved ! If Not I am Gonna swear to god and everyone I designed it this way to accomadate fat mandolin players  Attachment: 100_0508.jpg

If 1/8" is fat I am in a LOT of trouble.....  Wud/James I have never built a mando but if this was a guitar and one of my braces was flat or wrong I would think that I would have to replace that brace. Unfortunately this may mean removing the back.... If it does my sympathies since I know you didn't want to have to do that.... |

Laughing at the "anti-fat" approach. It's the antithesis of the Ovation approach (whaich is very fat guy unfriendly.....but don't ask how I know that!)

My opinion: If you are reluctant to take off the back and re-do it, leave it. If the mandolin is for you, it will serve as a constant reminder to double check as you go. Plus, who knows, you may be on to something new. As an aside, I have lots of reminders around the house!! |

I have several already , and its not like it was gonna be a $5,000.00 job anyway Sooooooooooooooooooooo me thinks its gonna be a as is kinda deal , and lesson learned ! I almost bet most people will never notice it anyway . And us Fat guys need stuff concaved anyway !
