Nice work Chris. I would be nice to see some pics of the process and the interior. How far does the Nomex go? What thickness of Nomex, and what type? What is the weight compared to a solid spruce one? |

Thats too bad, but I really like this idea. I'm curious about how it came to break. Was their bracing on the top? |

You know, Chris, I'm all about experimentation and applaud your efforts. But you make want to rethink how you approach those in the industry who have already devoted their lifetimes to it. Charles Fox is one of the premier innovators of this generation of luthiers. Sounds to me like you didn't approach him with any thoughts of gleaning and learning, but driving your notions and ideas at him and insulting him if he didn't agree. Not saying your idea is bad and you should certainly press ahead. This kind of attitude just bothers me. A lot. Good luck with your experimentation. I truly hope the next generation will speak you name with the same respect as one of the innovators of this generation. But I think you would have gained much more out of that conversation if you had asked more questions and taken more notes. Build your own knowledge base on the shoulders of those who have gone before, then blaze your own path. Again, good luck. With all sincerity. |
