I have a top that isn't quite wide enough at the lower bout. Have any of you added to that part of the top to make it fit. I just need 3/8-1/2 inch on each side. Its redwood if that makes any difference. Thanks Mark |

It's done all the time. Use the piece from the upper left on the lower right and vice-versa to account for any runout. Steve |

you can only use the uper left down to the lower right if you FLIP it ... otherwise you will have different grain runouts .... much easier to remember, and what I do, is slip a piece back from the upper bout to the lower bout, staying on the same side, unflipped ... its pretty much invisible if you get the grain lines parallel and even when jointing the pieces .. |
