Do you put z-poxy on your HM necks? How about on a cocobolo headplate? I already put a good amount on my workbench ![]() Thanks, Tim |

Hi Tim, Some don't think that Z-poxy has the right feel for the neck, but I have gotten great results with it. It gave me fits the 1st couple of times that I used it, until someone suggested spreading it on w/ a nitrile glove. Made all the difference in the world, and made pore filling the neck a breeze. Cheers, Dave |

I think it works great on the neck, and ditto on the nitrile glove spread. In fact, I do that on the whole body, but NO more on the top. Shellac is enough for me there. Thin with a little alcohol to retard and make spreading easier. I am still learning with Z-Poxy. What bums me the most is if I sand through to wood, then I have a color problem Mike |

Todd, have you had issues with Zpoxy shrinking back into filled pores over time? I've used it on ~8 guitars, but I've tried for a bit of an open pore look on most of them (2 coats of Z poxy sanded back to a thin film finished with a 50:50 wipe). On my last I completely filled the pores (3 coats and a 50:50 wipe) and finished with Tru Oil. Somewhere around 8 weeks later I noticed pores starting to appear. Looking back on some of my earlier guitars (some finished with lacquer, some with Tru Oil) I can see signs of similar activity. Bob |
