Here is a relatively simple one and very traditional - I like this style because they mitre into the purfling really well.

Yes they are individual pieces and each channel was routed with a 1/32" bit, but not by hand. I did it with my DIY CNC machine. Even with the help of CNC it was a lot of work cutting and fitting all those pieces. I like the look, very subtle at first glance, but I don't think I'll be doing it too often. Bob |

So this will be a very long term project for me...  (I have no CNC equipment and I'm not planning to get into it).Again: great stuff!

I needed to stretch the wood on this guitar so I went a bit wider with the back strip.
