If you were buying back and side wood for a traditionally sized, square neck Dobro, would wood for a 00 sized body work?........or would you need to buy back and sides large enough for a 000 body? Obviously, I don't have a plan for a traditional Dobro or I could figure this out myself.....and I also don't know the dimensions for a 00 size body.

Darryl--

I have a Dobro F60 and it is about the size of a 000. Its a tad different shape, though. If you want to build one, you might be able to get a tracing from someone a the Reso Hangout:

A traditional Dobro has about a 15" wide lower bout, and some of the newer less traditional resos may be a little bigger. An 00 is around 14 1/4" so I'd get 000 wood for a traditional dobro. You may want to post questions in the Official Resonator Forum here, cause we're always looking for something to talk about there.
