I am going to inlay the top and back of an O with abalone, should I get some curved strips, or use straight and break them to fit the curve? Thanks, Tim |

The easiest would be ZipFlex. http://www.advancedshelltech.com/ |

Get the curved ones; you'll still have to break them, most likely. |

If using real shell, I find it best to use a mix of straight and curved .. about 70-30 or so straight/curved. The straight ones work bertter on the lower bout and around the neck joint area, the typical curved ones ahve too much radius as they are usually made for a rosette. on my first ever I used only straight paua strips ... and on a florentine cutaway as well. Oh .. and use the teflon filler strip .... |
