My LMI binding cutter isn't cutting too well lately, and I'm wondering how to sharpen it. Is there a best method?

I also have a bridge pin hole reamer that needs sharpening as well. Would they take the same method?

Thanks in advance,

First you should clean it with alcohol or a saw blade cleaner. The flat faces that connect to the shaft are then sharpened with a diamond "stone" Take care to keep the two blades the same. I usually count the number of strokes on one side and then do the same on the other. If you make one shorter you have a real problem.

I would bet it mostly needs cleaning.

You can also have it actually sharpened by a co. that does this. it will take off some of the diameter so you can have them take off like .010 and then you'll be able to account for it when your using your bearings, but it will be sharp as new. I'm assuming it has enough meat on the tips to do this. I don't own that model as I use a different setup that utilizes different bits that are standard, but I use to use something similar 10 years ago or so.
