Any info out there on placement and construction of the Contreras style Double top? I know others are producing double tops...some with wood tops and others are doing composition. I just don't happen to have an old one laying around to take apart. It seems a second top is mounted just 1/4-1/2 in. above the back....
What is the soundhole size relationship and placement between the 2 tops. Is there any flaring or arch in the second top? Since the second top wouldn't a doesn't require supporting bracing for structure, what type of minor thin bracing would be necessary?

I could be wrong, but I think that the first Contreras double tops were simply a back made of top wood (cedar or spruce) with a thin outside veneer to protect it from damage and make it look like a normal back.
