One issue is I think the arguments become stronger or weaker depending on the type of guitar. For me, trying to get a nice, uniform finish applied/buffed out under the floating fingerboard extension of an archtop was a prime motivation to come up with a bolt-on neck, so I could finish neck & body seperately. |

Off. Hey Dave, not to hijack the thread but how do you access your bolts? I'm planning a bolt on neck on an archtop. |

Off. Murphy sez: "That fillet of finish at the neck joint of a 'finish with neck attached' instrument will come back to haunt you." ![]() Full disclosure: I have a "close" relationship with Murphy! ![]() |
