Is it possible to drop fill with CA during the finish process, and then sand flat and shoot a couple of more coats of finish on?

Yep... pretty standard nowadays. Just be sure that the CA isn't going onto bare wood because it can stain... But I just filled a tiny binding gap about 10 minutes ago. The tack coat of lacquer is going on later tonight!!!

If it`s a tiny gap you filled is it neccesary to sand it ,or just shoot right over it.

I take a single edge razor blade and make a burr on it with my burnisher and some tape on the corner like Frank Ford does on Frets.com and very lightly scrape at the CA until it is mostly gone and then a quick brush with sandpaper and a block does the trick.
