Hello all,this guitar's been an obsession of mine for many years and i finally got around to building it.It's based on Dylans 13 fret Nick Lucas. Adi top and EIR back sides bridge and fingerboard.Here's some pics. Roby. Thanks Rod lower bout is 14 3/4 approx check out the national music museum for info on the nick lucas gives dimensions for loads of guitars very usefull site Thanks again Roby |

Thanks all for the good words . Rod, the earlier NL's were a totally different shape from the later ones with a more rounded lower bout, the later ones were the same as the L-00 body shape but with the body depth of a dread ,so your 27 template is correct, i think gibson changed the shape of the NL around 1930 as far as i can find out.Thank all Roby |

Roby- Thanks for the tip about the National Music Museum. There's enough info there http://orgs.usd.edu/nmm/PluckedStrings/Guitars/Gibson/12574/NickLucasGuitar.html that a person could probably draw a decent template after a bit of time playing with the computer/printer, etc. Beautiful work on the guitar- congrats. What did you use for the end wedge? Very clean look. Cheers John |

Thanks all,just to answer a couple of questions, John, the end graft is white plastic material from stewmac with b/w fibre purfling from lmi .And Douglas, it more than met my expectations i was suprised at how loud this thing is, and it plays so easily due to the short gibson scale.Thanks again Roby |
