Post subject:  fret slotting blade

Hi all,

Up to now i've been slotting by hand but its getting to be a bit of a drag so I think I am going to purchase a blade for the table saw. So for fret wire with a tang width of .020" and 'barb' width (whatever you call the part on the tang that sticks out) of .032, what size blade would you use? I know you could use a .023 or .025 or even .0245 (Shane's) but which do you use and why?

The fretwire I use has a .020" tang. (LMI FW74, FWSS74, FWG74, depending on the clients preference) The supplier (LMI) says to use a .023" slot. I use Stew-Macs blade on my table saw. It's advertised as .023" but to be honest I've never measured it.
