Post subject:  Ideal form/mould thickness?

Hi guys,
Just about to make my form and wondering is there an ideal thickness for it.Most seem to be around 2-4".Guitar is a SJ.ANy advantages or limits as to thickness for forms.

One thing about thicker molds that I have ran into is you have to reposition the rim in the mold through various elements of the build. Particularly when sanding the rims for their radius. On rims that cover nearly the whole side they hit the dish.

IME 2 1/4" thick is thick enough to hold the rim correctly, but thin enough to....work around without having to move the rims in the mold until the box is closed.

3 layers of good quality-void free 3/4" ply (2 1/4") is pretty much standard.
