Hi guys, After watching Kent Everett's DVD on voicing I got to thinking... Is it possible to use my laptop as an Oscilloscope ??? Is there software available for this ?? I would think having a Oscilloscope while voicing would be a distinct advantage to "See" the progress especially as an amature. Gregg |

Strobosoft from Peterson has this feature. The cost is 100 dollars but there is a fifteen day trial download that is fully functional and lets you try it out to see if you like it. I really like the tap tuning feature. There is a lot of data generated and it is a challenge to figure out what to do with it. |

Strobosoft is great only deluxe has the tap tuning features. Another one for free is Visual Analyzer http://www.sillanumsoft.org/ The description from their site Visual Analyser is a complete professional real time software, transform your PC in a complete set of measurement instruments; no new hardware necessary It also has a signal generator which I will use and several other features that don't interest me Fred |

Another vote for Visual Analyzer for a scope simulator. For just FFTs, I like wavesurfer: http://www.speech.kth.se/wavesurfer/ |

Will this s/w tell you what note the top is tuned to? Sounds like this s/w would also be useful for the Tone Rite discussion... Mike |

I like this one: (The Tone Generator) http://www.esseraudio.com/ttg.htm It has a 30 day free trial also. |

Quote: Will this s/w tell you what note the top is tuned to In my somewhat limited experience I find it is easier to use and record results in hertz than notes and +- cents, strobosoft will work in either mode. Fred |
