I just want to remind everyone of the Michigan Luthier gathering at Blue Fish Music http://www.bluefishguitars.com/ Plymouth Mi. The address and directions to the store are on Paul's web site. We will start at 1pm and anyone who wants to do a presentation on any building process, tools, or jigs is welcome to do it. We will have a stage set up with Mic and acoustic amps for anyone who wishes to show off their music. The nice thing of using a music store is the lesson studios will provide plenty of quiet places to sample each others guitars. Those who have said they will be attending. I wish to thank Paul Murphy for providing us with a location to get together, he has been a great host to our Michigan Fingerstyle Picking parties, so this should be a good time. Hi Andy Be sure to bring the Bandura I was telling Paul Murphy about it and we were hoping you would bring it and play a tune or two for us. Paul and I talked on the phone this afternoon and he is really looking forward to Sunday and meeting all of you, there are a few local guys that he knows coming also. We decided to start at 1 pm and the ending time will depend on what is happening. I hope we have a few presentations and of course open mike time will be available. Fred |

Everything is progressing well and we should have a great turnout. Note we have moved the starting time to 1 pm, I will be there early to help Paul set up. The Michigan Fingerstyle Society just sent out a notice to the E newsletter subscribers so we will also have some players visiting us. I quote from the newsletter Quote: On Sunday November 8th , our good friend Paul Murphy of Blue Fish Music http://www.bluefishguitars.com/ is hosting a soon to be annual Luthier Gathering. T here will be about a dozen amateur and pro luthiers from Michigan , Ohio and Ontario getting together to discuss building, swap tonewoods and show off their instruments. Any friends of MFGS are welcome to check it out and try some guitars. Paul will have the stage and amp set up so there will be some open mike time and with the lesson rooms there will be some quiet places to test drive some guitars. Paul also does repairs and helpful with advice on anything to do with guitars. I can't hardly wait to meet some of you folks in person that have become friends through this forum Fred |

Hi Ken I was hoping someone would respond to this request, I don't have a cell phone or I would give my number. I guess you could call Blue Fish in the afternoon tomorrow and hopefully someone there can give you a number to contact us if we go somewhere to eat or have a drink after it is done. Paul and I decided to start at 1 instead of 12 to make the odds of you connecting with us better. I hope to see you tomorrow Fred |
