Very nice detailed vid John. I prefer to scribe glued down inlay and then remove and chalk as my eyes can't see pencil lines on ebony so well any more, but other than that it's the same routine. My compliments to your video guy also, very nicely done! |

I also duco glue the whole inlay and scribe with a #11 ex-acto or point if the #11 won't fit and chalk. I find the that #11 will cut the wood and when routing to it you can see the wood lift at the scribe cut. But different strokes for different folks. I also have a hard time seeing the pencil marks. ![]() Thanks for doing them as it's nice to see how others approach things. |

Do you think that magic marker trick would work using brown marker for rosewood? Very nice video. |

Todd I did post them in the tutorial section and I will give my permission to list them there by anyone. Yes the brown will work on rosewood though the ebony is more forgiving. One thing that I didn't note in the video is the lighting in my shop. The lights have a halogen center and I can get a very full light spectrum , that make the pencil line pop out much better than incandescent or florescent . I am happy to have met Glenn LaSalle as his work is above what I could ever think of doing. I am so glad you are benefiting from them. john hall |

Working on these videos have been a lot of fun!! The shooting and editing are the easy parts - accumulating the knowledge and being able to do the content as John is doing is the hard part. I have learned a lot by just participating in the videos - Thx John! Glenn |
