| Post subject: | Table saw blade recommendations |
I am looking for suggestions for a 10" replacement blade for my table saw. I don't know much about them other than there seems to be a lot of parameters ( tooth count, configuration, hook angle, kerf width  ) This will be used mostly as a general purpose blade, cross cutting, minimal ripping. Building jigs, necks etc. thanks Richard |

I'd strongly recommend getting more than one blade. I do 90% of my work with a Frued Diablo 24 tooth rip blade and a 60 tooth crosscut. They are affordable, available, well balanced, and durable. The thin plate can vibrate a bit when ripping but you still end up with less waste than with a full 1/8" kerf. A smaller diameter blade will tend to vibrate less but cut slower. The thin kerf also has less resistance and works well on less powerful saws. If you are really going to limit yourself to one blade, a Budke 40 tooth combo blade is as good as I've seen. I believer that's a Systematic blade. |

I use Forrest Woodworker and Woodworker II. The best you can buy. The cut is smooth like it was sanded. A bit pricey but you can have them sharpened by Forrest later... |

Agree with most here .. the Diablo 40 tooth is my main shop workhorse. When I need more depth of cut, I have a Forrest WW2 that I got with the saw. I also have some of the Diablo 24 tooth, older and a little dull from use, I use them to cut aluminum and CF bars - great little blades for the $ |

I have the Sawstop ICS I wonder if the 7 1/4 will work with the dado cartridge? I have to do some digging Just curious whats the advantage of the smaller blade over the others? Richard |

I'll second the Forest Woodworker ll for all the above reasons. I have tried many of the less expensive blades and liked some of them, but nothing has matched the quality of cut and durability of edge that this one has. |
