I haven't built one yet, but www.taweber.com has a ton of kits to choose from. Weber has a forum that's pretty good too. |

I built an AX84 P1-X kit for my first amp and i heartily recommend it, good price, very nice quality parts and most importantly mega documentation and a forum for support. The AX84 projects are also very mod friendly. I have built five of the AX84 projects and they all sound great. Any of the two stroke/champish kits would probably be nice also, but i don't have first hand experience with them. The parts i have bought from Weber in the past always seem to be just a little bit chintzier than i was expecting, but they have pretty low prices and everything i have gotten from them works fine. You might want to talk him out of it while you can though, the dangerous part about working on amps is that you can do it in your bedroom, and in a matter of months one can collect a whole junkyard worth of gutted chassis and transformers spilling out of every closet, which may or may not lead to your significant other leaving you. Filippo, nice deluxe! |

So, what you are saying is, that if you are building guitars, and start building amps, your life is pretty much "TOAST"! ![]() |

I was surfing around over the weekend and found a new circuit I'm very interested in, specifically because of the cleans. It's in the veign of a classic Vox (I've found myself partial to these circuits), but it's unique enough to have it's own thing going. The cleans again are breathtaking, and I think they'd really shine with a semi-hollow. Thankfully it's also extremely simple. Could also look at http://ceriatone.com. I haven't seen it mentioned yet. |
