....anyone done this? I'm interested in tackling something like this. I'm speaking in terms of WOOD BINDING.

yep ... purfling line too .... student did it .. same as a guitar body, but you dont need a channel, just glue to the bridge outline (minus the width of the binding and such unless you want the bridge bigger than std)

You can also glue a thin layer to the bottom. As you shape the side taper it shows as a nice outline. I've done that before, I'd do it again when the design calls for it. In that case it was a maple bridge with an ebony base layer.
