Post subject:  AUCTION – Figured MADAGASCAR ROSEWOOD

This time around we have a nice set of Madagascar Rosewood with strong ink lines and great color. The sides on this set are spectacular. The back measures – 16 3/16” x 24 3/8. The sides are 33 1/8” x 4 ½”. We are going to do something different this time (and hopefully fun and interesting) we will run bidding just like normal until the auction closes tomorrow at noon, or if someone wants to claim the auction for $275 they will win immediately AND get free shipping (in the USA).

As always, thanks for your support, and happy bidding.

I have this orphaned quartersawn back for which I couldn't find a match yet although I bought 2 different side sets for it [xx(]

If you think the color matches, I can offer 160$ for the sides alone. (that would be half of a 320$ set)

If you are not willing to split it, OK, i"ll take it all at 275 [xx(] (i hate WAS I hate hate hate it a [headinwall] gaah [headinwall] )

We don't really want to split it up, but I do think those sides will match.

If you want it, it's yours. You asked first. ;)

Hey Waddy,
You were SOOOO CLOSE to the final bid.....and I was going to go $105.00. We need deeper wallets.
Next time.

I have 2 really old pieces of Unknown?? Mahogany that I've hauled from shop to shop for 30 years. 1 highly figured (10/4 X 24" X40") and another pretty straight grained (8/4 X 30 X 50). I'm starting to get a feel for how these backs and sides are cut (grainwise). It might be possible for me to have these milled to get me a 2-3 sets. I'll need to do further research before milling.
Any proper back/side milling info. would be helpful.
