hi all..........has anyone airbrushed the colortone waterbase clear topcoat lacquer with any success......if so i would be greatfull to here of your experiance of it....psi used .......thinning ratios etc....im away from the shop at the moment so i cant go out and experiment.......thanks for any help offered.....joe |

I've sprayed it with a high pressure door jamb gun for bursting with much success. I'm planning on buying an airbrush for my next build but haven't actually tried it yet. |

thanks andy............what psi are you roughly using?......and i think i read some where that the tiny tip and nozzle of airbrushes cant atomize the waterbase lacq properly...........and you can imagine thinning this stuff.....how runny i would get......let me know how you get on though........joe |

I forgot to write it down but I usually use around 45psi with the HP gun. I'm planning on buying an Iwata Eclipse and in the description Here it says that it works well with "heavier paints". I have to assume that means it will work with WB finishes. I've often thinned my USL (haven't tried EM6000 yet) about 10%-ish with water which works just fine. |
