Hi All I am looking to purchase a diamond fret file. SM one seems to be the standard one most people recommend http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Fretting_su ... _File.html Here is one I found on ebay that is much cheaper http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Diamond-fret-cr ... 286.c0.m14 looks like its about a 3/32 file, does this look about right? thanks Richard |

I just picked one up, at that price, why not? Hasn't arrived yet, but I'll let you know. All the feedback appears to be good and folks seem to like them. |

Well, it arrived, and certainly looks and feels the business... I'll give it a whirl sometime soon and report back, but I expect it should be just fine! |

used it today and it works quickly and accurately. I would prefer the offset one for over the body area, but this works if you are slow and careful. I say its worth the money, we'll see how long it lasts. adam |

Thanks for that info Todd. Nice to know the STewMc one will handle the harder fret wires. |

I havn't had an issue but I do use naphtha to keep things cool . It helps to float out the dust and avoid caking in the diamond dust. |
