Looking forward to meeting some new people there. Met John at the A.S.I.A. symposium and have known Mike for a couple years he has been very generous with his time and gifting me some great wood. Wanted to make sure that as many people as possible knew about the show. They are also having alot of great clinic for players.Oh the Greenman is Bill Sterling

 Mike- It's a long sorry but as Hermit said it's not easy being Green. Actually the Greenman was a pagan God half man and half vegetation. Google it and see what you come up with. It goes way back in history. Well any way I think its cool. Plus I like to wear green. :mrgreen:Hi if I weren't crazy what would I be doing building guitars?

Except for this blasted cold I got from my daughters before coming here (and which I'm trying hard not to pass to anyone else while I'm here; I can't count the number of times I've politely refused to shake people's hands), I'm having a lovely time here in Woodstock. Friday night's concert was phenomenal! Unfortunately, I missed last night's concert, since this cold was running me into the ground. As usual, it's great to see all the makers and check out their instruments. There's been a lot of great music in the mini-concerts throughout the day as well. The turn out for the show was great yesterday. I hope that continues today.

Just got home from the Invitational.
Even though Todd Rose had a cold he watched others tables so they could take a break !!
If you've never met Todd -I and others will tell ya he's a one of a kind man!!

He brought a beautifully made and sounding instrument that I kick my old self in the ass for forgetting the type !!!
Mando -cello ?
Sorry Todd.
It was Curly Ash and sounded so good & the woodworking on it was PERFECT !!

It was great to see John & Randy (these two make beautiful guitars)again and meet Jody !

Greenman & I swaped some tops for Spanish Cedar neck blanks!

It's going to be the premier guitar show on the East coast !!
The concerts were great and the luthier community was awsome .
We all enjoyed each others work & shared ideas and shop stories !!
My view !

Yea the show was fun, I could do a bunch of name dropping but I won't.

Mike thanks for the nice comments on my guitars. I did get a chance to noodle your guitars a bit and my favorite was the one cedar top. Awesome stuff.(I think you sold that one?)

Randy's stuff was great too and Kinlock Nelson did a great demo job of the redwood topped guitar.

Todd was the man though. He came through in the clutch and gave us poor saps a break and brought food when we were a fadin. Nice Guitarolin too!

Greenman (Bill) thanks for coming by.

Great fun, nice guitars, good music ... not a bad way to spend the weekend.

Thanks John;
if you looked at the labels you would have seen a 02,04,& two 09s.
Like with everything & every maker there is a genisis & evolution process.

The cedar top style you played is going to be my only model from now on (except for Flamencos)
The raised fingerboard & radial bracing make a great sounding combo !
But I'll still have the waterbase over shellac finish .

Your guitars are second to none !
Beautiful in work,woods,and finish !

Mike

It's always a pleasure to hang with you guys, and I always get some good stuff out of our conversations about neck joints, finishes, woods, etc, not to mention the inspiration and ideas I get from seeing and playing your beautiful guitars. I was more than happy to help out a little bit. Thanks for the kind words about my mandoguitzoukulele. ;)

Thanks for the kind words John. As usual your guitars were absolutely stunning. Also, I always learn a bit just be hanging out in earshot of Mike. Can't wait to build my next nylon. Bill, thanks for stopping by.

A special thanks goes to Todd for really helping out at the show. Once Todd does his first show, he'll really appreciate just how much the breaks he allowed us to take are needed and mean to us.

I have to say, Kinloch really tore up that guitar. Too bad it was the last slot of the show.

Another special thanks to Baker and Sharon. They did a great job with this show and the concerts were incredible. I really liked the space even though it was a little tight. Next year should be even better.
