Hey, many thanks guys! Burton, one Q: what do you mean "Fred Perry" headstock? I don't get the reference... Steve |

Steve, being the bear claw lover that I am, this guitar works for me. I love everything about it. I especially love the way all of the separate components (headstock, sassafrass, bearclaw, fretmarkers) work together to give the feel of this instrument - nice choices here. How's the sound of this one? Nice work ![]() ![]() |

Kind words there folks, my thanks to you. Randolph and James, I really like the sound from this little guitar. It is quite well balanced, with a richness in the bass and an authority in the trebles. Does it sound like rosewood? No. Sassafras just doesn't have the density. So there are no cathedral type overtones here, just a nice pleasing sound. Don't worry about the taptone...as this stuff doesn't have one. Just be prepared for it not to sound like Brazilian. Rod, the Sitka came from Brent Cole in Alaska. Lars, Abre.-many thanks gents. Heath--wow! what a compliment. I'm honored. ![]() Steve |

Steve, Sorry for the obscure reference. The laurel leaf design on the headstock is similar to the logo on the Fred Perry line of clothing, of which I am a big fan! |

Ahh, ok, thanks for the clarification! So then both Fred and I have plagiarised the ancient Romans, who used the laurel wreath for the symbol of victory! (Though I doubt that Fred puts a "K" in the center of his wreath. ![]() Thanks, Steve |

Mike, thanks...if Shane has got some figured tops like this, let me know. I've seen some bearclaw figure in his Lutz, but not this heavy. Peter, yes you did. It made the trip. And obrigado to you! Thanks Marc for the kind words. Kim, yes it sat too long on Tim's site. I was weary of that set tempting me, so I had to try it. Thanks for not buying it, and for your generous remarks. Steve |

Another spectacular piece of Kinnaird artistry, which would seem to be in your 'Post European' style ![]() Two small things, there seems to be a bit of the guitar missing in the upper bout, and wouldn't all those marks in the top sand out? ![]() Colin |
