Hey guys - I'm about to start spraying some KTM-9 and was curious to see if anyone has experience with water based dyes compatible (or just better) to use with KTM-9. I'm looking to darken up some African mahogany specifically. Any suggestions? Something I can pick up at the local hardware/woodworking store possibly? |

Rusty, I use the transtint universal dyes when wanting to tint a finish. They are soluble in alcohol, water or solvent based products. This way I never have to worry about using the right dye with the right finish. |

I'm looking actually to stain the wood before the clear coat goes on. Don't think I was clear when I first posted the question. Thanks. |

Unless you are going for opaque color than I am with Robbie no matter if you are staining the wood or adding tent to the finish. Stewmac’s transparent dye is Transtint sold under Stewmac's label |
