Post subject: | Archtop Building Class |
I’ve been toying around with the idea of taking a archtop building class this fall or next spring. I know I could get there with the Benedetto book but it would be so much more enjoyable spending an intense week with a skilled archtop luthier. I’m sure a week of workshop classes would be the equivalent of many months of solo trial and error. I believe Tom Ribbecke offers a one week course at his shop at Hearldsburg. Are there any other archtop builders who offer one or two week classes? |

Tom is certainly at the top of his craft. I can say from first hand experience though that Frank Finocchio is a wonderful teacher and someone who is staggeringly smart. I would not hesitate for a second to take his class. |

BTW, I had heard Frank was a good steel string builder but I would have guessed he was also an accomplished archtop builder. |
