Post subject:  Metal Powder for Inlay

I am doing the inlay on a J200 and looking for 18k gold powder or Bronze powder that Gibson uses with the Les Paul Gold top. Stewart Mac used to sell Bronze powder a long time ago. Any sources?

Thanks

I can't be a hundred percent sure but you could try Rio Grande (wholesale jewelry supply house). If they don't have the powder they will at least have the gold that you could turn into powder.

Many artists supply places and lithographer supply places both carry metallic powders.

Run a search on Gold Leaf suppliers. They carry a wide assortment of gold in leafs and gold in powders (called shell gold) both aren't cheap. THey also carry various types of metallic powders which are cheap.

You may also wanna look at some of the "metallic" mica powders called Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments by Jacquard.

Google will find all of the above for you,

By the way, Pearl Ex powders come in a wide range of colours and are a stunning effect in clear colour finishes when sprayed...cheap too.
