This is an inlay on a classical guitar I am making for a good friend. This is my first attempt at a pretty intricate inlay. I am happy for the most part with how it turned out, but there's definitely room for improvement. In case it's not 100% clear on what kind of fish it's suppose to be, it's a trout. The friend I'm building it for was named after a "Brooke" trout.
A piece chipped out near the mouth in the white MOP so it kinda makes it look like a smiling dolphin.....
I've heard of people using crushed eggshell as a white inlay filler...If I were to carefully engrave where it connects to the mouth and then fill it with eggshell, maybe MOP, would it work? Also I'm going to make the mouth more defined with an engraver and another fill with RW dust and epoxy as there are also a few spots that didn't quite get filled. Thanks for looking and any feedback
