hello, I'm looking to build a jumbo in the style of the Taylor 315ce but can't find any links to templates, molds or plans for this particular model. Anyone know anybody that has either? Thanks |

I believe that John Hall at blues creek has some taylorish forms and molds. He should be along here shortly. |

I've actually spent some time looking online for plans or a template and I don't believe there is anything online. I like the Taylor jumbo shape better than say a J200 as I think the waist is a little smaller and overall to my eye the shape is more 'pleasing' |

This is one of the few I don't have . At last count I have 83 body shapes , of those 20 are customs for people. If anyone can help ouy merikson let us know . Try Frank Ford , he may have one. |

What I would do in this situation.... Go over to your local friendly mom and pops music shop that carries Taylors. Talk up the owner, explain your plight. Ask permission to make a tracing on a slow night... then come over one day when it is quiet (5:00 on a Monday afternoon...) Take a sheet of cardboard and a pencil. I might even take a roll of the super delicate surface blue painters tape. It really helps if you are a regular... They would probably even let you use the padded setup bench... but bring a nice soft cotton blanket to lay it on just in case. Bracing patterns aren't so easy, but there are some pix online to help guide you. Once you are done, be sure to wipe down the guitar good... and buy a set of strings and a couple picks... Good luck John |
