Neil;
I like your site and your guitar designs.

Are your s.holes larger then most?
Keep up the good work [:Y:]

Neil that is a nice simplistic site and i also like the asymmetrical bridge shape. I cant believe all the luthiers i have found right around southwestern Ontario. you're only 4 exits down the highway from me wow7-eyes

Paul

We looked at a house in Rodney.

We went to a home where someone was cooking game of some kind. I think it was deer.

Our real estate agent turned to us and said "we're all killers here"

Needless to say we didn't buy a house there. And unfortunately now every time we go by Rodney we look at each other and say "they are all killers there"

I bet you make killer guitars - ha ha

Neil, I really like the design of the website.

One thing though. And maybe it's just me :D

In the "for sale" section you write
Quote:
probably will be paired with a beautiful lutz spruce top

To me , the "probably" sends a signal of indecisiveness, or even worse, "He doesn't really know what he's doing". Definitely not what you want to signal to potential customers. I would assume, customers prefer a luthier with a clear vision about what the guitar he is building will be about (e.g., strumming, fingerstyle, many overtones, strong fundamental, whatever) and since the top wood is a non-trivial part in this equation, I'd either write "Lutz will be used as the top", or write nothing at all.

Again, maybe it's just me, but I thought I'd let you know...

cheers, Christian

Hey Christian

Thanks. My partner had the exact same comment.

Guess I should listen to one of you :)

Nice simple site, but I'm looking at it on an iBook and the text is so small it's almost unreadable. And being image based it's not something I can change in my settings.

Another thing that you might want to consider is that as it's all image based, there isn't any text that the web search engines can index so you get some sort of meaningful ranking on Google etc.

Really like the site, in this cluttered internet its refreshing to see something so simple.

It looks very nice, but on my older computer, which is slow, because of the image blocks, it opens in pieces, some of them slower than others, depending on the image. It makes the load, uneven. Once open, it looks good. I also suspect that Allen is right about getting a good search position on Google. Text should be in text boxes, and not put into a graphics format. It'll make it load faster, and viewers can enlarge the text. It'll make other things out of place, but they can read it, at least. Overall, though, a good start.

Elegant site design. Well done. I do have to second Allen's comment on size. I'm using a 30" Cinema Display and the page opens up a bit on the small side. Lots of real estate given over to negative space. Not necessarily a bad thing, but should be noted. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more pictures. :-)

Nice job,
