I'm VERY happy with mine. It is a well designed system that makes it pretty hard to screw up. The column mounted router makes all the difference, no rocking, no off square cuts.

Hi - I am placing my first order with Stewart Mac and I am debating getting the True Channel Jig for routing edge binding. As a first time builder would you say this is the easiest method for me to use ? John |

Just a pointer, do also check with John Hall at BluesCreekGuitars, he also sell a similar version of the stewmac´s . If you want good advice , try calling him , he will get you on the right track right away. Lars |

I have the stew mac jig and have had great success with it. My only complaint isn't really with the jig, but the stewmac bearing set is a little on the light side in terms of selection. I found myself halfway in between sizes using their bearings too often. I ended up ponying up for the full set (two sets actually) of the LMI bearing sets. |

With this jig you need to be aware that laminate trimmers do not all have the same mounting angle . This can make the channel off square . |

Re Bosch trimmer, I had to make a 1/4" Lexan adaptor plate to get my Bosch Colt trimmer to work. Took about 1/2 hour to make. Lexan plate with countersunk screws attaches to trimmer base casting, and with screwheads countersunk in the opposite direction it attaches to the levitating aluminum base on the vertical router column. Some other trimmers look like they would be a straight ahead bolt-up, but my Bosch baseplate screw holes did not line up with the pre-drilled holes in the jig, hence the adaptor plate. Gordo |

Stewart Mac use the Makita in the demo, since I don't think there is much in the laminate trimmers I may go for a Makita. I'll post a question on their website and feedback what they say. Thanks John |

I love mine. I use mine with a Freud FT750 Laminate Trimmer bolted right up. |
